Viper SmartStart App Reviews

Works great as a basic remote but lacks some features you would expect. The Siri support is cheesy as best. Saying "Smartstart" and running a predefined action is not at all what could be offered. I would love to see "start my car" and "unlock my doors."

Overall this is a great app, before last night i would have given this app a 5. . Last night was -20. I dont think it likes really cold weather. Got this for my wife and we have had this for about 24 months, I thought they upgraded their servers, there cant be to much traffic on their servers. Today she stood outside car at mall for 10 min. Waiting for it to unlock doors. Its been wonky for the past few weeks

Ever since I downloaded the new update the app crashes every time I open it Useless to have the starter if I cant even use it

If possible I would love to see an updated version where the app can tell you if your car is running. I have gotten the message that the command has been received but I look out the window and my vehicle is not actually running.

Its nice to start my car no matter how far away I am but the app crashes a lot and then it wont start. Just yesterday it told me( to bad you dont have smart start, you could start your car now) lol I have three years paid subscription. Wast of money so far but would be a good idea if it worked.

Great for everyday use! No remote start system comes close to a smartstart, you only need a cell phone coverage and your good. You can also get a bluetooth module installed so that it can be used at a "non-coverage area. Even at my cottages in Sutton and Riviere-Rouge I have absolutly no problem getting signal and starting the car. I would have gave it 5 stars but the new "redesign" they did for ios7 is just plain ideous!! The home screen is so ugly now, seems like a child drew the thing... Its a shame because its just an awesome app!!

Why cant use this app on ISO 8.

Every time I go to put my account information in the app crashes. I am new to this and I have an iPhone 6 and Im wondering if maybe thats why it isnt working. Please fix this.

I kind of like this tool although I recommend an update with the following. If car is running, doors are opened or closed. How long the car has been running. The temperature inside the car if you have temperature reader. Status does not show if the car is On or off or if the doors are locked.

For the price you guys are charging this app needs more work. Better notifications is a must ! Also runtime and cabin temperature would be nice added features.

I installed the App but never worked not even once. Waste of time what a failure.

I must agree with others on here. This app needs work it should be able to let you know how long the car has been running not hard to do. Also the temp & battery voltage would be great. Same issues with log in crashes. I think drone from compustar may be better but this could be just as good if you put more work into it.

App crashes every time I try to renew my account… No phone number on the website, no response to emails. Will not recommend. Will not buy again once this vehicle sold.

Smart schedule dont work. Ask for connection and im connected. The avis after Start must be stay On The screen. Fine gadget

For what viper is asking as a yearly few and what they are giving in return for this feature isnt worth the money and I wont renew. Overpriced and slow. Lower the cost or add better features or better yet both!

Im a cell customer, so cant comment on the Bluetooth - though I did look at it and seemed easy enough to add Bluetooth control so not sure where the complaints are from. Ultimately I can start my car and unlock it from my phone and watch. This is pretty convenient, when you remember. Not so useful last minute. If love to see: (1) 3D touch enabled for start, lock, and unlock. (2) Geo fencing features (3) Presets (eg to warm car at points in day) (4) IFTTT integration.
