Viper SmartStart App Reviews

New version does not show speed when locating vehicle. Viper says they know but no clue when it will be fixed. Would like to see audible feed back on start and lock/unlock. I can not get SMS messaging notifications to work. Would suggest this version be pulled and let us revert to previous version. It had problems but better than this version.

Havent worked since iOS 8...let alone iOS 9. Got excited to see an iOS 9 update but no notifications.

Old platform was way better than this one. Not user friendly at all.

In this new update, the app keeps asking me to log in now and then. Also, the watch app feature is great, but theres an issue.. Since it can take a while to get confirmation, I often look away from the watch after pressing start, but the "Success" pop up that disappears too quickly so when I look back down, I cant tell that the car is running. This happens in the phone app as well. The older version had a success prompt that stayed on until dismissed. Also, notifications dont seem to work at all

I wouldnt say this replaces a two way. I am very disappointed. For the amount you pay you would assume it would be far superior but it is not at all. I like to use my car starter for my dogs. In the summer heat I like to run into the grocery store and know they are kept cool. I dont feel like I can trust this app at all. I would trade it in for a two way remote option in a second if I could. I do not recommend this to anyone. Wonderful idea but its just not where it needs to be. Waste of money unfortunately.

Great to monitor and start my vehicle all over Ontario. The app doesnt work if using TbayTel Wireless. Worked when I used to be on Telus and Rogers wireless. Tried to setup Notification. Crashes when trying to save and doesnt have TBayTel.

I almost didnt get this starter because of these reviews! Thankfully the installer is far smarter than the people reviewing this app. He has this version and showed me how it works and its simple! It tells you everything and you dont need to stare at the screen to see if it started...instead of whining about nothing, google it or go to your installer for a 30 second tutorial and see how ridiculous you are. Then come back and admit it seeing as you are so quick to chastise this developer for YOUR stupidity! It works flawlessly and is so simple to use my 12 yr old daughter starts my truck and then likes to give me status reports on if its running and that all the doors are locked etc :). Yup...a 12yr old!!

The App has worked well... But now I cant use my Apple Watch App... It says unlock your iPhone... It is unlocked.... Restarted everything... Doesnt help....help....!

It works great when it actually works. It very often logs you out of the app or the app just does not work. Pretty frustrating when you really need to warm up your vehicle because its very cold outside. The system is suppose to stay running until the key is introduced then you just drive away but quite often it will disable the vehicle when you put it in drive.

You broke it. The old app used to work. I would like my money back for the Bluetooth module.

Logs me out every other day, causing the watch app to be useless because I never know when its actually connected or not.

Try to start the app then interrupt the network. The app then goes to a login screen. Fix it.

New app is junk. Problems to locate vehicle, no map viewing options, no longer has speed, direction, etc, logs out often. Wish now that i hadnt updated app

It always takes two or more tries to start my diesel. It only shows on the screen if it running or stopped for approx 2 seconds. The status shows alerts but doesnt tell you what the alert is. Not happy and wouldnt buy it again!

I have a better chance of my car starting using my left shoe, than it starting using this app.

This app works to start my car or unlock my doors about 60% of the time, making it about as reliable as tomorrows weather forecast. The rest of the time i repeatedly get an error message even after resetting the app and my internet connection. I invested a lot money for this service so please fix the app.

I open the app and sometimes its logged out. The password doesnt work, and the reset password that they email me doesnt work either. What am I to do now?

Slightly better ! Crashes often or shows errors ! When locating car shows speed in mph ! When I chose km/hr please fix

This app doesnt work with the new update. Fix it please!

I was able to get it functioning by simply deleting the app and re-installing it... When I called Directed they had said they had a few other reports of it crashing, and were looking into it. So again just reinstall and sign back in and should work fine. Cheers.
